eBox messages in SharePoint automatically with Make.com

In this guide, you build a Make scenario that automatically saves every new eBox or MyMinfin message and its attachments to SharePoint. The same approach works for OneDrive, Google Drive or any of the thousands of other apps on Make.

What you need

  • A Boxflow account with at least one connected company.
  • A Make.com account.
  • Access to the SharePoint site (or OneDrive/Google Drive) where you want to archive.

The modules of the Boxflow app on Make

Watch Messages Trigger (instant) Starts the scenario as soon as a new message arrives. You activate this trigger through a webhook action in a Boxflow automation.
Get a Message Action Retrieves the details of a specific message, including all attachments.
Download a File Action Downloads a specific attachment (base64-encoded, with metadata).
Get Message Attachments Search Lists all attachments of a message.
Get Messages Search Retrieves the messages of a specific workspace.
List Workspaces Search Lists the workspaces accessible to the authenticated user.

Step by step

  1. 1

Create a new scenario in Make

Add the Boxflow “Watch Messages” trigger as the first module. Connect your Boxflow account and copy the webhook URL Make generates for you.

  2. 2

    Create an automation in Boxflow

In Boxflow, go to Automations and create a new automation. Optionally add conditions (e.g. only messages for a specific company or from a specific sender) and add a webhook action with the URL from Make.

  3. 3

    Retrieve the attachments

In Make, add the “Get Message Attachments” module, followed by “Download a File” for each attachment (use an iterator if a message can have several attachments).

  4. 4

    Save the files to SharePoint

Add the SharePoint (or OneDrive/Google Drive) “Upload a File” module. Use fields such as the company name or sender to build a folder structure, for example /eBox/{company}/{year}.

  5. 5

    Test and activate

Click “Run once” in Make and reprocess a message in Boxflow to test the scenario. Everything working? Switch the scenario on.

Tips

  • If the webhook fails temporarily, Boxflow retries automatically (up to 10 times, spread over about 3 days).
  • Use several automations with different conditions to send messages to different folders or apps.
  • The audit trail of each message shows whether the webhook was sent successfully.
